At a time when plant biodiversity is under pressure, I want to show how complex and robust the world of plants is through the work of Plant-Hunters and Plant-Artist in the past. With my work I bring botanical work from the past to bloom in the present.
About me
Marian van Weert is a much sought-after speaker in Europe on the Dutch history of botany. She tells the story with great passion about 'Plant-Hunters' and 'Plant-Artists' from the distant past. From the plants they collected and preserved in a herbarium van Weert makes botanic art tableaus. Through these tableaus she shows that nature is complex and firm.
